EPAPSY, in collaboration with UNHCR, implements the Community Psychosocial Workforce (CPW) project, with the aim to facilitate the provision of psychosocial support services to refugees and asylum seekers by refugees and asylum seekers. In the CPW project, refugees / asylum seekers are trained to take on paraprofessional roles as Community Psychosocial Workers within the refugee communities.

Job Title: Psychologist – Team Leader (m/f/d)
Status: From 01/01/2024
Working hours: Full time (9:00 – 17:00 from Monday to Friday)
Workplace: Psychosocial Support Centre for Refugees (PSCR)
Location: Athens

Responsibilities:

  • Guidance, supervision, and capacity building of a team of ten Community Psychosocial Workers (CPWs)
  • Availability to assist CPWs and answer their questions during the day
  • Focal point concerning the choice, delegation, and monitoring of referrals to the CPW project
  • Participation in the selection and training of new team members
  • Close collaboration with the Project Manager, the Administrative Assistant, and the Clinical Supervisor
  • Preparation of the team concerning its daily/weekly/monthly activities
  • Participation in the weekly team meetings and the monthly staff meetings
  • Contribute to reporting, including preparing monthly operational reports
  • Participation in necessary trainings organized by EPAPSY, UNHCR, or another partner
  • Preparation, coordination, and execution of information sessions with other actors
  • Connection of the CPWs with internal and external partners
  • Organization of outreach activities
  • The role reports to the Project Manager

Required qualifications and skills:

Profile 

  • University degree in Psychology
  • Work permit as a psychologist
  • A Master’s degree on a relevant topic will be considered an asset (especially Counselling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Community Psychology)
  • Training in psychotherapy (especially in CBT) is highly valued.
  • Training in Problem Management Plus (PM+) is an asset.
  • Training in and experience with clinical supervision is highly valued.

Experience

  • Clinical work is necessary.
  • Previous working experience within the field of refugee mental health is highly valued.
  • Previous working experience of coordinating teams is highly valued.

Required Professional skills:

  • Empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard
  • Ability to work and coordinate a multicultural team
  • Excellent communicational and organizational skills
  • Very good knowledge of the refugee context and current situation in Greece
  • General knowledge of the NGO world, and particularly of available mental health care and social services in Attica
  • High professional ethics and integrity

Language and Computer skills:

  • Fluency in Greek (desirable)
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills (essential)
  • An addition language will be considered as an asset.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
